In accordance with the Georgia Tech Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Compliance Policy, master's students funded through a covered NSF or NIH project are required to complete two forms of RCR training. USDA NIFA funded master's students are only required to complete the online training (they are encouraged but not required to complete the in-person training). The training must be completed before an applicable person graduates or otherwise leaves the Institute even if that imposes a shorter deadline than what is mentioned below.
An online CITI RCR course must be successfully completed within ninety days of first being appointed to a covered project.
Master's students who are funded by an applicable NSF grant must complete at least 2 hours of in-person RCR training; those funded an applicable NIH grant must complete at least 8 hours of in-person RCR training. The in-person training must be completed within the first year of the appointment to the project.
